Hi everyone,

We have a lot of exciting news at the CETUS Project as we are starting our new field season!

Firstly, we just started a new collaboration with the team from the Oceanic Observatory of Madeira, therefore increasing our monitored area as two new routes will be added to the program: Madeira Island to Porto Santo and to Selvagens.

Also, we have the amazing opportunity to collaborate with a local artist, Inês Sena. She has offered us some beautiful designs to sell on merchandise including bags and t-shirts. Check our products at the Facebook page (Cetus Project) and website (www.cetusproject.com) and order on Facebook messenger or by emailing us at cetusproject.pt@gmail.com. By purchasing these products you will be benefitting the artist and helping CETUS Project to grow and improve its volunteering program.

As well as this, for the first year we have been able to expand into community outreach by working with local schools to do educational activities with children from 3 to 10 years old. With your continued support we will be able to reach more children in the Continental Portugal and the islands in the Macaronesia (Madeira, Azores and Cape Verde) about conservation of cetaceans and other important oceanic issues; education that they would be otherwise unlikely to receive. Our expansion into education is giving our team of voluntary aspiring conservationists a greater opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of environmental conservation, whilst contributing to a worthwhile cause.

Thank you from everyone at the CETUS Project!
